Sleeping in the vehicle is restricted in Poland and depends on where you stop. A tent is allowed in places and with conditions. A pitch runs about €18 a night.

Restricted — it depends where
Poland — a paid rest area or guarded car park is the safe option. In forest you may drive on public roads only, and stop or park on forest roads only in marked places. The free "Zanocuj w lesie" bivouac scheme is walk-in and does NOT cover vehicles — leave the car at a forest car park. Fines to PLN 5,000.
In a tent
Allowed, with conditions
Bivouacking is prohibited outside places the forest district designates — and "Zanocuj w lesie" is that designation, applied to over 60,000 hectares. Free, no registration at all for up to 9 people and 2 consecutive nights; beyond either, email the district two working days ahead. It is a walk-in scheme: vehicles and campervans are not part of it, and you leave the car at a forest car park.
🔥 Fire only at designated sites, and open flame is banned in forest AND within 100 m of the forest boundary — a FIRE distance, not a camping one, and a prime candidate for being misquoted as a setback. Bring your own wood; gathering it is forbidden. Fines to PLN 5,000, and to PLN 30,000 for fire offences.

"Zanocuj w lesie" lets you sleep free in over 60,000 hectares of state forest — up to 9 people and 2 nights with no notice at all, longer or larger with an email to the forest district. But it is a PERMISSION, not a facility: no shelters, no toilets, no firewood. Bring everything and carry it out.
