How a visitor pays
Cars pay only on the privately run motorways with barriers: the A2 between Świecko and Konin and the A4 between Katowice and Kraków, by card or cash at the plazas. The state-run motorway sections are free for cars and motorhomes up to 3.5 t since 2023. Vehicles over 3.5 t pay the e-TOLL distance charge with an app or a device; since 21 September 2026 a car up to 3.5 t towing a caravan no longer does, whatever the outfit weighs (etoll.gov.pl).
Pay with a tag
No cross-border tag: the A1 takes the AmberGo app and Autopay by plate, the A4 Autopay and videotolling by plate, the A2 card or cash; a foreign badge is not read. Over 3.5 t the e-TOLL app or device is mandatory — for the vehicle itself; a car towing a caravan is out of e-TOLL since 21 September 2026.

open, with limits. Most Sundays are non-trading by law, with a few exempt Sundays a year. Small owner-run shops and station shops stay open.
