Sleeping in the vehicle is restricted in Bulgaria and depends on where you stop. A tent is allowed in places and with conditions. A pitch runs about €11 a night.

Bulgaria — nothing found against sleeping in a lawfully parked vehicle. In forest territories, though, ordinary road vehicles may only enter under a ministerial ordinance, and vehicles are banned from marked tourist paths and from the coastal dunes.

Allowed, with conditions
The Forest Act contains no camping provision at all — so the general Bulgarian wild-camping ban people cite cannot be traced to it. What IS real: bivouacking and fire are prohibited outside designated places in national and nature parks, and on the Black Sea coast tents and campervans are banned on the dunes, though municipalities may designate plots for them.
🔥 Fire in forest is prohibited except under the ministerial ordinance, and during the fire-hazard season also within 100 m of forest boundaries — a FIRE distance. The season is declared per province, per year, so there are no fixed dates. Coastal fines BGN 500–1,000, doubled on repeat; protected areas BGN 500–5,000.
