Italy — one night is lawful wherever parking is, and the law says precisely what keeps it parking rather than camping: the vehicle rests on its wheels only, discharges nothing, and stays within its own footprint. So no levelling legs, no awning, no chairs or table. Emptying waste water anywhere but a proper point is €87–344. Paid car parks may charge motorhomes 50% more.
In a tent
No right to pitch
No national right and no national tent rule either — it is set region by region and park by park, so the honest answer is to check the specific park. Italy's law is precise about VEHICLES and silent about tents.
🔥 In the declared high-risk season, anything that could even potentially start a fire is prohibited — €5,000–50,000, doubled in aggravated cases (Legge 353/2000 art. 10(5)).
