No right to pitch
No right to roam exists in Irish law — the Occupiers' Liability Act is about liability, not access, and is often misread. Camping without permission is civil trespass. Even the national parks camp by permission: Wicklow asks for 500 m from any road and any building, and that you move on after two nights.
🔥 No campfires in Wicklow Mountains NP at all. Burning vegetation is an offence 1 March–31 August (Wildlife Act 1976 s.40).

Safe Nights Ireland lists 200+ hosts — pubs, farms, small businesses — for about €15 a year. Useful, because Ireland has no right to roam and wild camping is trespass.
