Sleeping in your vehicle or a tent in Czechia

• 🚐 In the vehicle: Allowed with real exceptions — depends on the place. Czechia — a paid rest area or guarded car park is the safe option. Be aware that in ALL forests it is an offence to drive or even to STAND with a vehicle, and national parks and protected landscapes ban staying there with a vehicle or caravan outright.
• ⛺ A tent outside a campsite: Camping outside designated places is banned in ALL forests, not just protected ones, and that same rule bans standing a vehicle there too. Šumava does run seven emergency bivouac sites — one night, 18:00 to 09:00, no booking — so the bivouac story is real, but note they forbid fire of any kind INCLUDING camping stoves.
