Barrier motorways: take a ticket, pay by card or cash at the exit, or with a Telepass or a European badge. The free-flow motorways around Milan — A36, A59, A60 — have no booths: pay online within 15 days or register the plate. Campervans are class B by height. The Alpine tunnels to France and Switzerland are flat tolls; a return within the week is far cheaper than two singles.

A Telepass badge is read in the yellow Telepass lanes; the European badges — Bip&Go, Ulys, Bip&Drive, Via Verde Europa and Telepass Europeo — pay the Italian barriers and the Alpine tunnels as well.
